Angela Kijewski

Angela Kijewski

President / Chairperson and Foster Coordinator
BSc Forestry Management

Adopted 2 male greyhounds over 5 years ago and have since been an avid volunteer and foster home for SAGA. After "failing" fostering 4 years ago, another male greyhound joined our family.

Joined SAGA's Board of Directors in 2010.

What I love about greyhounds is their affinity to get along with other each other- their comradery. They have such gentle, easy going personalities which make them great companions to snuggle and stroll with.

Chris Blanar

Chris Blanar

Vice Chairperson, Services Coordinator
Engineering Consultant (Manufacturing Business Operations)

Adopted two former racers, Derr ("Dare" from SAGA) in 2007 and Vern (SAGA re-adoption, originally from GPI) in 2008 who are commonly referred to as "The Boys".

Joined SAGA's Board of Directors in 2010.  Has participated in SAGA since the first adoption including 3 hauls, many Meet & Greets and Global Greyhound Day walks.

Quiet and loving, eager to please and always surprising - what's not to love about greyt's?

Lana Moskaluk

Lana Moskaluk

Treasurer / Adoptions Coordinator
CMA, Oil & Gas Professional

After fostering 1 dog, we knew we had to own one of these quiet, graceful, elegant and easy to care for dogs to our household. We have adopted 3 greyhounds. We lost one to illness and currently have 2 girls.

Joined SAGA's Board of Directors in 2005. Started washing blankets for greyhound hauls and moved to fostering and the Treasurer role.

Each greyhound came to us at a different time but their easy gentle personality made the transition of adding new dogs into a household with children, 3 smaller dogs and a cat absolutely seamless.

Tineke Asma

Tineke Asma

Secretary
BSc in Cellular and Microbial Biology / Medical Researcher

After having Labradors since 1974, and after doing more than a year of research, I adopted my first Greyhound in 2001.  Our family has adopted 5 more Greyhounds since that time and three of them are SAGA Greyhounds.

Joined the SAGA's Board of Directors in 2011.  Has been a SAGA Volunteer for a year and helped with the July 2010 Haul & Fostering.

Each of the Greyhounds we have adopted has had a way of worming itself into your heart, even though each has its own personality.  From shy to outgoing, they are all so special.

Jodi Miller

Jodi Miller

Director at Large, Media and Communications Coordinator
BA - Political Science, Oil & Gas (Energy) Professional

Adopted my first Greyhound in 1994 and my second Greyhound in 1999, both female. Have been an avid volunteer for several animal organizations in Alberta over the past 15 years and am committed to Greyhounds and their future after their racing careers have ended.

Joined SAGA's Board of Directors in 2010.

What I love about these majestic creatures is their unfailing ability to love and their desire to be loved by those who take them into their homes and hearts. Unconditional love is the only thing you will ever see in their eyes.

Michael Asma

Michael Asma

Director at Large, Home Inspections & Hauls Coordinator
Retired, former Professional Freelance Photographer & Operating Room Technician

Our love for Greyhounds started in July 2001, when Jamey joined us from an adoption group in Ohio since we could not find a group here in Calgary. Since then we have added Tosca from Florida; Marco a Spanish Galgo from Spain; and our two SAGA Greyhounds Diego and Master. Master is a Pet Therapy dog at the Children's Hospital.
Was a former Board member of a Youth Group for Underprivileged Children in Vancouver BC, from 1983-1985.

Joined SAGA's Board of Directors in October 2010.

I spend my time looking after our Greyhounds, especially my heart dog Jamey, who passed away 27 months post leg amputation after being diagnosed with osteosarcoma (bone cancer). Every day I saw his unconditional love for us in his eyes.
