Adopting a Greyhound

Greyhound PhotoWhen considering adopting any animal, SAGA strongly promotes researching them to gain the best understanding of what you are buying. Adopting a new pet is always exciting, but if you are unprepared for the pets needs, do not understand how to train them, or do not understand their particular means of interaction, problems can arise that could damage the relationship between pet and owner. We promote the research to prevent unhappiness in both the pet, and the owner.

Before adopting from us, S.A.G.A requires that you do some research on retired racing Greyhounds to ensure you understand what you are getting, why your dog will be the way it is, where it came from, and the “why” you want a greyhound. We have several resources available both through us, and sister Associations that will help teach you about these remarkable dogs.
