Mark became involved with
Greyhounds after the death of one of his
Collies in 1997. Something tweaked in his
head about adopting a retired racing
Greyhound. Three weeks later after much
research, Mark adopted his first Greyhound,
Spikey.

Mark continued his work with Greyhounds
in educating the public and promoting their
adoption/placement, while adopting more
Greyhounds of his own.
In the Fall of 2002, other Greyhound
adopters encouraged Mark to make a vision of
Greyhound adoption/placement into a reality
and start his own group.
With the overwhelming support of the
people around him, a vision became a reality
and SAGA was born.

Garth Hilton, a wonderful man and
Greyhound adopter, continues to motivate
Mark in his endeavours. "I thank him
for his encouragement and guidance to do
what is right. His spirit continues to be a
major part of SAGA."
